You cannot store combustible materials because of the threat of them catching fire. These items include fireworks, fuel tanks, fertilizer, paint thinner, and so on. If it seems like it'll easily catch fire, avoid storing it. You also cannot store firearms.
You cannot store living animals or plants. Do not treat a storage space as a replacement for a proper pet sitter. Not only are storage spaces not built for people or animals to live in them, but the food you leave out for your pets could also attract pests. Similarly, plant soil could attract pests as well.
You cannot store food of any type including, but not limited to, canned foods, perishable foods, dry foods, or pet food for similar reasons. Food will attract pests and will cause an infestation in your storage space and spread to others.
Lastly, you cannot store illegal items such as prohibited weapons, illicit drugs, drug paraphernalia, and stolen items. If it's not legal to house it elsewhere, you cannot store it here.

“I’ve rented a few storages at different locations throughout north county from different companies and SuperStorage has been by far the best without a doubt. The staff is exceptional, very friendly and super easy to work with. They set me up with a unit that was exactly what I needed, ground level, drive up, and had 24 hour access. Not all of them will have 24 hour access, but they do have some that are, and for me being a general contractor I needed to be able to access my tools and materials at any given hour. Some of the competitors might stay open an extra hour or two depending on the location, but then they would be closed on holidays. At SuperStorage I would still have access to my unit 24hrs a day, 7days a week, 365days a year. Plus they have an on site employee that resides there and I would see them walking the property at times, and always saying hello, and that made me feel a lot better regarding the security of my unit. This is on top of the Camera system they have in place, and the units also have heat sensors installed that would alert them in case of a fire. I haven’t seen that anywhere else. U-Haul has individual alarmed units, but they have issues with the alarm constantly sounding when someone’s unit doesn’t register the latch is closed, and so no one ever responds to the alarm when it goes off, it’s pointless. The units at SuperStorage are much better built all around. The walls are tied into the ceiling, like they should be, so they go all the way up. No gaps at top for someone to reach over, or transfer smells if there were any in a neighboring unit, and they don’t flex when you push on them so your stuff cant be knocked over from the other side inadvertently. The staff there are really what makes it the best place to be. Places like Prime Storage are owned by people who have never even stepped foot on the property, so any issues have to go thru a chain of people and nothing is ever resolved, and the employees are all disgruntled because they are micro managed and powerless to do much at all, and they take the heat when customers complain of the non stop and sometimes even unannounced rate increases that the greedy foreign management will slap down on you after about your 2nd or 3rd month there. They hit me with a 50% increase one month! And then another increase 2 months after that. Extremely rude employees who would always hassle me, and it didn’t matter that the unit was raised 8 inches from the asphalt to keep water out because the roof leaked and the raised unit just made it harder to load/unload as I had to build my own ramp to be able to roll heavy items up and down. Most of the time the security gate was broken and a few times my code just randomly stopped working leaving me stuck on the property until I could reach someone by phone and have them fix it remotely. When I moved out there was a descrepency.”
